The Oakham Veterinary Hospital stud team will be attending the British Breeding Stallion Event at Addington Equestrian Centre on Saturday 8th February, 2020.
The British Breeding Stallion Event is a highly popular show that allows you to come and see some of the great stallions standing in this country. It offers a vibrant mix of established household names, as well as some up-and-coming talent, and with a busy trade stand area, it makes for a great day out for the whole family.
OVH Stud will be supporting our friends from Caunton Manor Stud who will be presenting their stallions Comfort and Branduardi. It is a great opportunity to chat through your plans for the upcoming breeding season.
The Event opens from 9.30am and the first stallion will be in the International Arena at 10.30am. There will be 24 Eventing Stallions, 28 Showjumping Stallions and 38 Dressage Stallions. There will be a lunch time break from 12.15-1.15pm. The Eventing Stallions will kick the day off at 10.30pm and run through to the lunch break. The Showjumping Stallions will carry on after lunch through until approximately 3.45pm. There will then be a short break before the Dressage Stallions will start at approximately 4pm.
This year we have had the pleasure of working with Ruby VIII owned by Dietmar Ackermann and Di Lampard who whilst maintaining a busy competition schedule with Holly Smith has also undergone four 4 embryo flushes between March and September. These flushes have resulted in 3 confirmed pregnancies all by different stallions ..... Casall, Conthargos and Big Star. What an exciting trio of foals to look forward to in 2020!
If you are interested in our embryo transfer programme please get in touch!!

Leprince des Bois is sired by British bred Yarlands Summer Song who was ranked in the WBFSH top 10 Eventing sires for 10 years. Summer Song's sire Fleetwater Opposition is a legend in eventing circles and has produced numerous international eventers (Opposition Buzz, Ngong Hills, and Absolute Opposition). The dam of Leprince has also produced one other 4* offspring (Popof Des Bois), and she is by a son of the great Olympian, Galoubet A, the sire of Olympic Champion and triple World Cup Champion Baloubet du Rouet.
Leprince competed internationally with German rider Kai Ruder for 8 years and amongst many other outstanding results finished 4th at Pau 2010, 11th at Badminton 2011 and 8th at Burghley 2012.
Leprince was retired sound in 2014 after winning the German junior eventing championships with 16yo Kristen Rickert. Due to his busy competition schedule the majority of his offspring have yet to reach maturity. He is 65% TB and produces intelligent, easy horses and passes on his tremendous scope and stamina.
