Matt Hecking

Matt has been involved with horses all his life having started riding ponies at a very young age. After leaving school he spent 4 years working in Virginia, USA working on busy sporthorse breeding farm. Here he gained experience in stallion semen collection, AI, foaling and was responsible for the daily care of all the breeding stock.

After a short break from the equine world, Matt was employed as the stud manager at Oakham in February 2008 and has been responsible for developing the extensive stud services we now offer. Matt is paticularly experienced in foaling having welcomed over 250 newborn foals into the world since OVH started offering the service in 2009.

During his spare time he can be found competing on the eventing circuit and breeding his own string of future event horses!!
